Job Description

WE ARE HIRING FOR ONE OF OUR CLIENTS WHICH IS AN ESTEEMED ORGANIZATION IN THE SPECIALTY CHEMICALS SECTOR. THEY ARE A MANUFACTURER AND SUPPLIER OF INDUSTRIAL CHEMICALS SUCH AS LUBRICANTS, PAINTS, INKS, COATINGS, POLYMERS, PIGMENTS, AGROCHEMICALS, ETC.

Designation: Import Export Manager
Experience: 15+ years
Location: Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning:
• Develop and implement export-import strategies aligned with business goals.
• Identify new markets and trade opportunities.
• Mitigate risks associated with cross-border trade.
2. Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure adherence to all international trade laws, customs regulations, and local compliance standards.
• Manage documentation like shipping bills, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and import/export licenses.
3. Operations Management:
• Supervise and optimize the logistics of import and export operations.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, transport agencies, and warehousing teams. • Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely shipment and delivery.
4. Cost Control:
• Manage budgets related to international shipping and customs.
• Negotiate rates with logistics partners and vendors.
• Optimize shipping methods to reduce costs.
5. Team Management:
• Lead and mentor the EXIM team, including documentation executives, logistics coordinators, and compliance officers.
• Provide training on updates in trade compliance and documentation.
6. Liaison and Communication:
• Serve as a liaison with government bodies, customs authorities, export promotion councils, and financial institutions.
• Handle communications with overseas clients and suppliers.
7. Risk Management:
• Monitor geopolitical risks, currency fluctuations, and trade barriers.
• Manage insurance and claims related to international shipments.
8. Reporting and Analysis:
• Generate regular reports on shipment status, costs, delivery performance, and trade volumes.
• Analyze data to identify trends and make improvements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations and procedures.
• Strong understanding of supply chain and logistics.
• Leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Familiarity with ERP and EXIM management software.
